IMO Organizes Member Country Implementation Seminar

Improving the performance of member states is an important strategic goal of the IMO. The results of the IMO review show that many countries have not established relevant laws or inadequate performance in the country. To solve this problem, IMO launched a five-day intensive seminar for lawyers and legislators to help them understand the IMO convention and how to develop and adopt the relevant provisions. The most recent seminar was held at the IMO headquarters on October 1-5. Representatives from 16 countries including Argentina and Poland attended the meeting and learned the basic principles for enacting domestic laws to implement the IMO Convention.
