RUBBER FENDER, also known as rubber guard, are installed on docks or ships to absorb the collision energy between the ships and the dock to the ship when docked or moored to protect the ship and the dock from damage.

Foam-filled fenders are also known as solid polyurethane fenders, and the interior cushioning media are mainly closed-cell foaming materials such as foamed EVA, foamed polyurethane and foamed rubber.

The solid rubber fender has high energy absorption and reaction force, and has the advantages of low cost, long service life, simple installation and maintenance, etc. It is a protective device installed in the dock and the dock.
The floating rubber fender is a new type of fender equipment. Compared with the solid rubber fender, its main features are: large compression deformation, large energy absorption, small reaction force, self-floating, easy installation. It is usually used in ship to ship, ship to wharf bargaining, docking, etc. Because of its self-floating characteristics, it is also particularly suitable for installation at terminals with large tidal level changes. The filled rubber fender is especially suitable for applications in harsh environments due to its maintenance-free and long life, such as offshore drilling platforms.
The industry standard for solid rubber fenders is HG/T 2866-2016 Rubber Fender, GB/T 21537-2008 Cone Rubber Fender.
The industry standard adopted by inflatable rubber fenders in China is "CB-T 3948 Marine Inflatable Rubber Ball" and the international ISO standard ISO17357:2002 "High pressure Floating pneumatic rubber fenders". Filled floating rubber fenders are new products, no international standards and industry standards.
